Reliable, Compact and Safe - pearly® Cycle Computer
Valley Electronics GmbH based near Munich in Germany manufactures a range of electronic cycle computers to fulfill the needs of women who wish to use knowledge and awareness of their menstrual cycle as an aide to assist or avoid pregnancy. This is 21st Century Natural Family Planning using thousand year old methodology.

Using a combination of temperature readings and cycle data, the devices go well beyond the traditional "rhythm method" to achieve a level of accuracy which exceeds that of the hormonal pill.
A copy of a study* calculating the Pearl Index of the Lady-Comp® Cycle Computer, the flagship product of Valley Electronics from which the pearly® gets its software, has been provided to us here at RDO Medical for our appraisal. The study shows a Pearl Index of 0,7 which shows itself to be more reliable in terms of contraception than the hormonal pill which has a Pearl Index of 0,9.
Many thanks to the Valley Electronics' Research Department for supplying this information. The results of this study have been a contributing factor to our decision to include the Valley Electronics range of devices into its range of fertility products.
The pearly® device itself has an ultra sensitive thermometer which measures the user’s basal body temperature each morning to a 100th of a degree. With this data, pearly® can identify the slightest change in basal temperature which signifies ovulation. By recording the menstruation days, the device is able to apply a series of complex algorythyms developed using the cycle data of hundreds of thousands of recorded cycles and map out the full range of fertile and infertile days. pearly® then displays a red or green light to notify the user which day she is currently experiencing.
